Well I really dropped the ball on the last two months. My only excuse is that my daughter got married on June 18, and the process of hosting a big wedding is pretty overwhelming. Every moment, other than work, seemed to be consumed with wedding plans. I even had a warrant out for a speeding ticket I failed to get mailed (while traveling for wedding plans).
Life is slowly getting back to normal, so if Truman will keep emailing us who our guest speaker for the week is, I will get back to posting them.
6/28/2011 Harry Gibbs will be our speaker. Harry was in a horrendous head on collision in November of last year. He has some interesting information to convey regarding incidents before and after the accident. He still has a long recovery ahead of him but his enthusiasm and appreciation of life makes for a good story.
I really missed the boat this month. Sorry about that. Work was a bit more consuming than usual. Anyway, here we go:

3/15/2011 Chaplain Craig Pender from the Havin’s unit in Brownwood will speak to us .
3/8/2011 Program chairman for this month, Stan Wilson will have Shelley Dahl from the Rockhouse in Stephenville will be our speaker.
3/1/2011 Zack Christian won our Sophomore of the year contest at Comanche High School. Tomorrow we will have him as our guest. We hope the rest of the Christian family can also attend.
2/21/2011 – Last year our own Darwin Dickerson gave us a program on “Roots of Country Music”.Unfortunately we had a very low attendance that day—I don’t remember why–but Darwin has agreed to present his program again tomorrow.
For the few of us who heard it last year we will enjoy if very much this year—for those of you who missed it last year you are in for a treat tomorrow.
2/15/2011 – Lt Governor Don Holland will be our speaker. He will be giving a report of his attendance at the Mid-Winter conference held this weekend.
Well, I was sitting here looking at a newspaper article of our clubs donation to the Salvation Army and I wanted a way for everyone that is a part of the club to post what is happening. Not sure a blog is the way to go, but hey, I was up for a new adventure.
Anyway, the first item of news I am posting is that our club donated $300.00 to the local Salvation Army headed up by Kenneth Haygood.
Ok-this is really old news now because it ran in the local newspaper on January 13th. If I can access this through my iPhone, I think I can get things posted here in more timly manner. I can actually do it during our meetings. We will see?!? There is really too many choices in this Worldpress Blog, but then, that is true in all of life these days! Godspeed – Kelly A. Baker
